Meeting IOCL's Southern Regional Pipeline team

The LeakSonic technical team had the opportunity to meet R. M. Naidu, Sarvu Sathish, and Srikanth Teja at Indian Oil Corp Limited - Southern Regional Pipeline Division, Ramanathapuram, to discuss R&D and the future of pipeline integrity technologies.

This visit marked a significant step for us as a young deep-tech team. We had the opportunity to walk through real operating infrastructure, understand the genuine complexity of how a national pipeline network is monitored and maintained, and present Sentrix - our evidence and intelligence platform for pipeline integrity - directly to experienced engineering leadership.

What stood out most was the openness of the response. Rather than treating an early-stage idea from student founders as a curiosity, the team engaged with real technical seriousness - asking sharp questions, sharing genuine operational context, and helping us understand exactly what a technology like ours would need to prove to be useful in the real world. We came away with a clearer sense of where our thinking was right, where it needed correction, and a concrete path toward testing our approach in a real, controlled environment going forward.

A special thanks to Senthil Kumar Nachimuthu Sir for helping us connect with the team. The support and openness we received have been invaluable in taking our ideas beyond online research and moving them closer to real-world experimentation. Why a field visit matters more than a research paper

Reading about pipeline integrity management from the outside teaches you the vocabulary. It does not teach you which of your assumptions are wrong. Standing inside an operating SRPL facility, presenting Sentrix directly to engineers who run this infrastructure every day, and fielding their questions in real time is a fundamentally different kind of test - one that either holds up or doesn't, immediately, in front of the people best qualified to judge it.

That is exactly what this visit was. Not a sales pitch, not an announcement of a signed deployment, but an early-stage engineering conversation between a young deep-tech team and the operators who would eventually need to trust a technology like Sentrix with real integrity decisions. We left with a sharper, more accurate picture of the problem - which, for a company at our stage, is worth more than a polished pitch that never gets tested against reality.

What it represents is real engineering validation from people who run pipeline infrastructure for a living, and a concrete, mutually understood path toward testing Sentrix in a controlled real-world setting. For a platform built on the principle of validating claims with practising engineers before shipping them, that is exactly the kind of milestone worth writing about honestly.
